He holds an undergraduate degree in anthropology and master’s degrees in English literature and mental health counseling. Jason has spent the majority of his career in higher education, including more than 12 years in academic advising, as well as national scholarship advising, teaching, and administration. She is excited to be a part of the advising team at UNLV's Academic Success Center and looks forward to applying her experience and training to assist students in understanding and reaching their aspirations and goals. Elizabeth's extensive practice in a variety of fields gives her a unique perspective to provide students with career exploration. Elizabeth has taught at and worked within universities and at university museums with students from a diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. She has also volunteered with Hold Your Horses, an organization that provides equine therapy for children and adults with disabilities, and apprenticed at Kendalia Wildlife Rescue and Rehab. She has experience working as a Photographer, a Social Media and Research Director and a Curatorial Assistant at the Humboldt State Natural History Museum.
Her interests are in anthropology, biology, engineering, D.I.Y., fine arts, and marketing. She is a recent Fine Arts graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. at Humboldt State University with a minor in Theater and a certificate in Museum Studies. Sheetal is excited to be a part of the advising team at UNLV's Academic Success Center and looks forward to utilizing her training and experience to assist students in understanding their curriculum, reaching their graduation goals, and making the most of their Rebel experience!Įlizabeth Johnson, Senior Academic AdvisorĮlizabeth is a California native who achieved her B.A.
This experience, along with her rewarding work as a student mentor in college, inspired her to pursue a career in academic advising. She enjoyed connecting her students to learning opportunities, motivating them to create and work towards attaining their academic and personal goals, and helping them develop skills necessary for future success.
Prior to joining UNLV, Sheetal worked with academically at-risk and high-achieving youth. She comes with extensive nonprofit experience, having worked with local and international agencies in multiple roles and settings. Sheetal earned her bachelor’s degree in management of human resources from Excelsior College, followed by a master’s degree in public policy management from Monash University in Australia.
